Below you will find resources to help you promote the International Year of Astronomy 2009 in your area, and instructions to use the logo and branding for your events and activities.
Branding and Identity Guidelines
The official name of this global celebration is the International Year of Astronomy 2009.
The IAU Officers and the IAU Executive Committee Working Group for the IYA2009 reserve the right to revoke the use of the logo by any individual or group at any time for any reason, and you agree to promptly comply with any such revocation.
In order to use the official logo you must first register your event, project or activity with the UK Co-ordinator.
Registration Forms
To register your event as an official IYA2009 project you must complete one of the following documents and email them to the UK Co-ordinator.
- Registration document (58kb)- a short one-page document for events, projects and activities that do not require addition funding, i.e. events that you're running anyway
- Project proposal document (118kb) - a longer four-page document for those projects seeking funding. Please note that IYA2009 UK does not offer grants, but is supported by a number of organisations and grant schemes (visit our Funding page). Neither of these forms is a grant application form - you must apply for grants separately.
